Here we go again, we are still in the first section of the Navigators Topical Memory system.

This week’s verse is about witnessing and is found in Matthew 4:19.

19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

So this week’s verse isn’t too bad and next week’s verse happens to be one of my life verses that I memorized in high school (Romans 1:16).

Just to reiterate what our group does, we get together two times a month at someone’s house or at a coffee place.  We pick a partner and say each verse to them plus our new verses so at our next meeting we will be saying 12 verses.

We do get one “freebie”, but after that each mistake means we pay a quarter.  If we miss one WORD we pay a quarter and I do think that is important because we don’t want to paraphrase the Bible we want to know exactly what it says so that we can do as it says in I Peter 3:15:

15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

And don’t you love that verse . . . for the hope that is in you.  Yes, when people look at you crazy and say how can you have peace at a time like this you can tell them and you can show them exactly what the Bible says and where it is found.
