I promised my plan for my OAMC and here it is. I have been doing OAMC off and on for a little while, but I got the idea to do cooking for a week from Kate at A Simple Walk. I will post my grocery list Thursday hopefully and then I will post my Plan for each day on Friday and then I will actually grocery shop on Friday or Saturday and hopefully the plan will be a success. I used to do this with a friend, but she now works 4 days a week and doesn’t have a lot of extra time. I still do my OAMC Cooking Club, but this is for my family.

Sher
After you cooked for this week what are the menues that you eat for the next month? I like the shopping list you made but how much did you purchase?
November 8, 2008 at 5:20 pm
Gretchen
Sher,
You can see some of the dinners that I used for my all purpose meat mix and chicken mix under the wrap up at the end of the post. I pretty much just made my menus up weekly like I always do, but I would use one or two meals that I had in the freezer – like lasgna or my meatloaf. I would also sometimes look at the All Recipes website in the ingredient search and see what I could make with my meat that I already cooked. You can see most of my menus under “Menu” on the category list. I usually cook from things that I have on hand.
With my chicken I made chicken tacos then we had chicken and rice with peanut sauce and then we had chicken bbq sandwiches. Those are some of the things we had, also chicken pot pie and chicken noodle soup.
Regarding my shopping list, I just took my recipes and noted what things I already had like flour and butter and I only bought what I didn’t have. I made sure and noted how much of each ingredient each recipe called for then added that up at the end to get my amount that I needed.
Does that help any?

Christina
Can you tell me how many people you are serving with these meals?
April 6, 2009 at 3:08 pm
Gretchen
Christina,
I feed 4 people with this. This is actually two adults and two small children, but since my children don’t eat a lot I do have at least one serving left over to pack for my husband’s lunch. Does that help?
